Ingredients

  • 14 ounce package angel food cake
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries large-sized are best
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  • Chop your angel food cake into 1-inch cubes.  You'll only use about ½ of your angel food cake.  If you'd like to use your entire cake, then you'll need to double the amount of strawberries and blueberries called for.
  • Slice the green tops off of the strawberries.  Slice the strawberries in half length-wise, from top to bottom.
  • Start threading your angel food cake and berries onto your skewers.  You can do this in any pattern that you'd like!  I think they looked best with 1 chunk of cake, 1 strawberry slice, 1 cake, 1 strawberry, and then 3 blueberries.
  • Continue making your berry skewers until you have used up all of your ingredients!  I like to serve these with homemade whipped topping or fruit dip.

Notes

  • You'll need 12-inch bamboo skewers.
  • I love dipping fruit skewers into homemade whipped topping. Cream cheese fruit dip, yogurt dip, chocolate fudge, and chocolate hummus are also really yummy!
