A slice of warm and comforting Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Banana Bread is the perfect way to start or end your day. This one-bowl banana bread recipe is super easy to make and is packed with wholesome, nutritious ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large bananas - very ripe
  • 3/4 brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup salted butter - melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup regular rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.  Lightly grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Peel your ripe bananas and place them in a large mixing bowl.  Use the back of a fork to mash the bananas until they're just about smooth.  Some lumps can remain.
  3. Add the brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix until smooth.  You can use a regular mixing spoon.  You do not need an electric mixer.
  4. Add the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt to the bowl and mix until the dry ingredients are fully incorporated into the wet ingredients.
  5. Fold the mini chocolate chips into the banana bread batter.
  6. Carefully pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.  Use a silicone bowl scraper to get every last bit of batter out of the bowl and into the pan.  Spread the batter out evenly in the bread pan.
  7. Bake the Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Banana Bread for 35-40 minutes at 350°F or until done in the middle.  You'll know your bread is done when a toothpick inserted into the middle of the bread comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool for about 15 minutes before removing it from the loaf pan.  Let the bread fully cool before slicing.  Enjoy!
