Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 heaping cups of precooked shredded chicken breast
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 large flatbreads - each weighing about 134 grams
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, toss the precooked chicken with ½ cup of BBQ sauce, setting aside the remaining ¼ cup.
  3. Spread the reserved ¼ cup of BBQ sauce evenly over the two flatbreads, going right to the edges if you like.
  4. Top each flatbread with an even layer of the shredded BBQ chicken.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over each flatbread.
  6. Place the pizzas directly on the racks of your preheated oven for a crispier crust, or use a baking sheet if preferred.
  7. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the flatbreads are crispy on the bottom and the cheese is fully melted.
  8. Once done, remove the flatbreads from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • The flavor of your BBQ sauce will determine the overall flavor of the BBQ chicken flatbread, so choose wisely! I prefer the sweet and smoky options from brands like Sweet Baby Ray’s or Rib Rack.
  • My flatbreads weighed 134 grams and were about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide. Try to find a flatbread of a similar size so you can make this recipe according to my instructions. If yours are sized differently, adjust the quantities and cooking time as needed.
  • Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet for a softer crust. I like my crust crisp, so I always go directly to the oven racks!
  • Feel free to get creative and add extra toppings such as sliced red onions, baby spinach, arugula, and banana peppers. Just be careful when adding too many extra toppings, as they can weigh down the flatbread.
